Reunion Entertainment

Make yourself heard here regarding reunion ambiance.  Some have expressed an interest in no background distractions.  That the fewer distractions the better for trying to make connections with long lost souls.  Others have expressed an interest in very low volume background music, others have expressed an interest in live band music.  Some want to dance others want to talk.  Lets see if we can find some happy medium so we can all enjoy ourselves and have one great reunion!

.    I vote for a DJ or someone's iPod playing some good old oldies in the background. A little space for someone to dance if the mood strikes us. DJ first vote if they play our era and not ear blowing loud.  Could help break the ice for us backward people.  Meaning myself.  BTW. Who can afford to buy or sell to family, friends or business owners an $800 page or part of it.  Sorry. I don't now anyone, business or personal, that can afford that ad. Not for a High School Reunion Book anyway. Bless you classmates that have that kind of pull. Go for it! May you be exceptionally successful.

This is not a wedding where dancing is expected.  This is a party for socializing and being able to hear each other.

Hello Classmates: Regarding the music issue at our reunion: Yes, I think it will be a nice addition to the evening. However, I do share the opinion that it must be toned down to a background effect.  Some of us may already have difficulty hearing another person speak (yours truly included). Why make it more difficult?

We had a DJ at the 40th reunion in Eatontown it was awful. Had iPod at the 45th reunion way in the corner couldn't hear it. Time for a change.

The Poll results regarding entertainment preferences after one week:
Band                95
Other               7
DJ                    5
None               4
IPod                 2
=============
                                              113

It’s interesting to note that there are 21 more votes for a band than there are registered classmates (74).  The total vote is 39 more than the 74 registered members (53% more than registered).
It’s disappointing to find that after so long, there is so little regard by some for what the rest of us might enjoy.
The Poll was intended to measure individual proclivities, but it resulted in the hijacking by a few at the expense of the majority.
Here’s hoping that we can find some way – some middle ground - for everyone to enjoy the evening.

My vote is for a DJ with some good old "oldies" (late 50's, early 60's).  Not too loud, because I too have some hearing issues with conversations.  A small dance floor would be nice, if anyone would want to dance.  To me, an IPod just sounds "cheesy".
